Demo and live accounts: what should a new user understand?

A demo environment can help you practise platform actions. It should not be treated as proof of the execution conditions or results you will experience with real money.

Practical checklist

Use a demo to learn where order settings, account information and symbol specifications are located. Keep a checklist of actions you understand and questions to resolve before using a live account. Check the broker’s current description of each environment.

Before your next step

When moving to a live account, separately review costs, available instruments, funding requirements and risk disclosures. Results in a demo account do not represent the results you will get with real money. If you are unsure about an order setting, ask how the order setting works before using it on a live account.
