Quick answer

Yes. STARTRADER's Client Agreements include a section titled “SWAP FREE OR ISLAMIC ACCOUNT” (clause 5.5), so the official basis for an Islamic account is the agreement, not a marketing page: STARTRADER has no dedicated Islamic account page on its website. Under clause 5.5, a Swap Free Account is not charged or credited with a swap charge when a position is held overnight; instead, an administrative fee is charged. Apart from this difference, Swap-Free Accounts have the same trading conditions and terms as STARTRADER's regular client accounts. The agreement does not publish the amount of the administrative fee. Conversion is not an option you select when you open an account: if you hold an existing regular account, you must request conversion in writing to the support team, and conversion can only take place once all positions on the regular account are closed and the account is reconciled.

Where the terms live: clause 5.5, not a product page

The wording checked for this guide comes from two current Client Agreements published on startrader.com: the agreement of STARTRADER Financial Markets Limited, licensed by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius, and the agreement of STARTRADER Limited, licensed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Seychelles. In both documents, clause 5.5 is titled “SWAP FREE OR ISLAMIC ACCOUNT” and the wording is substantially the same. This guide names only these two entities because they are the ones whose clause 5.5 text was verified on startrader.com on 23 October 2026. Whether other STARTRADER entities offer the same arrangement on the same terms has not been published in the documents checked, so do not assume the Mauritius or Seychelles wording automatically applies to an account held with another entity; check the agreement that governs your own account.

What replaces the swap: an administrative fee

Swap-free does not mean cost-free. Clause 5.5(a) states that clients who hold a Swap Free Account will be charged an administrative fee instead of being credited or debited with a swap charge when holding a position overnight. STARTRADER reserves the right to change the administration charges from time to time. The agreements do not publish the amount of the fee, a rate, a per-instrument table, or the day from which the fee starts, so any article that quotes an exact administrative fee, or says the fee starts after a fixed number of days, is going beyond the official record checked for this guide. Before you convert, ask the support team for the current administrative fee that would apply to your account and instruments, in writing.

How conversion works: a written request, after closing positions

The agreement describes one route only. If a client holds an existing regular account and wishes to convert that account to a Swap Free Account, the client must make a request in writing to the support team. The conversion can only take place if all positions on the regular accounts are closed and the account is reconciled. The agreement does not describe selecting an Islamic account during account opening, and it does not describe a self-service conversion switch in the Client Portal, so this guide does not present either route as available. Plan the timing accordingly: open positions must be closed before conversion, and a position you intend to hold is a reason to delay the request, not a detail to settle afterwards.

Good faith use and STARTRADER's right to revoke

Clause 5.5 also sets a good-faith condition. Swap Free Accounts are to be used in good faith, and the client may not use the Swap Free Account to make profits from swaps or from not paying swaps; the client also may not request payment of swap credit amounts lost as a result of converting an account. STARTRADER reserves the right to revoke or cancel a Swap Free Account without having to provide any reason. If STARTRADER detects abuse of the arrangement, including fraud, manipulation, cash-back arbitrage, carry trades or other deceitful or fraudulent activity, it reserves the right to take immediate action, which the clause lists as revoking the account, recovering accumulated swaps and related interest and costs, terminating the agreement, and voiding related trades and cancelling profit or loss. Treat the arrangement as a facility to be used as intended, not as a pricing loophole.

Not the same as a swap-free contract, and how this website helps

Do not confuse the account with a separate clause. Under clauses 5.1(b) and 5.2(b), STARTRADER may designate a specific Margin FX contract or spot CFD as swap-free on its website; a position on such a designated contract is not subject to a swap charge or credit for the first seven days it is held overnight, and swaps may apply from day eight onwards. That seven-day wording belongs to those contract clauses, not to clause 5.5: the Swap Free Account clause itself states no number of days and no fee start date, and this guide does not transfer the figure across. Our independent partner team can explain these clauses in English or Persian and help you prepare a written conversion request; the decision to convert an account, and the terms that apply, rest with the applicable STARTRADER entity.

Common questions

Does STARTRADER offer an Islamic (swap-free) account?

Yes. STARTRADER's Client Agreements include a section titled “SWAP FREE OR ISLAMIC ACCOUNT” (clause 5.5). STARTRADER has no dedicated Islamic account page on its website, so the official basis for an Islamic account is the agreement, not a marketing page.

Is a Swap Free Account completely free of overnight charges?

No. Swap-free does not mean cost-free: clients who hold a Swap Free Account will be charged an administrative fee instead of being credited or debited with a swap charge when holding a position overnight.

How much is the administrative fee on a Swap Free Account?

The agreements do not publish the amount of the fee, a rate, a per-instrument table, or the day from which the fee starts. STARTRADER reserves the right to change the administration charges from time to time, so ask the support team for the current fee that would apply to your account, in writing.

How do I convert my account to a Swap Free Account?

If you hold an existing regular account, you must make a request in writing to the support team. The conversion can only take place if all positions on the regular accounts are closed and the account is reconciled.

Can I select an Islamic account when I open my account, or convert in the Client Portal?

The agreement does not describe selecting an Islamic account during account opening, and it does not describe a self-service conversion switch in the Client Portal. The route the agreement describes is a written request to the support team for an existing regular account.

Can STARTRADER cancel a Swap Free Account?

Yes. STARTRADER reserves the right to revoke or cancel a Swap Free Account without having to provide any reason. Swap Free Accounts are to be used in good faith, and where STARTRADER detects abuse, including fraud, manipulation, cash-back arbitrage or carry trades, it reserves the right to take immediate action, including recovering accumulated swaps.

Is the seven-day swap-free period the same thing as an Islamic account?

No. The first seven days wording belongs to clauses 5.1(b) and 5.2(b), under which STARTRADER may designate a specific contract as swap-free; the Swap Free Account clause, clause 5.5, itself states no number of days and no fee start date, and this guide does not transfer the figure across.
